AMBALA: There is no difference between Valentine's Day and Parents Day if one goes by the logic offered by an Ambala organization. Taking a wider view of love, Yuva Seva Sangh, had exhorted youngsters to celebrate Valentine's Day – an occasion when lovers express their feelings for each other – as Parents Day.
The Sangh is planning to honour parents at a programme in BPS Planetarium on February 14 and claim that 170 couples have confirmed their participation.

"We want to celebrate this day as Parents Day. We are visiting schools and colleges of Ambala Cantt and City to make the youngsters realize the importance of parents in their life," said Sangh president Gagandeep Thapar alias Banti.
The organizers say they are not against Valentine's Day, but unhappy over the decline in values among the youth.
Though a number of youths have welcomed the initiative, many were not so happy about it. Anil and Shefali said, "We must respect our parents and elders but such organizations should allow the youth to celebrate occasions like Valentine Day they way they want to."
